About this project
An integrated development plan for a Baturaja carbonate oil field in the South Sumatra Basin, covering geology, reservoir description, reserves, drilling and completion, production facilities, HSE and economics. A team of five delivered a 211-page study by splitting the work across disciplines and integrating the results between them. Seven development scenarios were simulated. The recommended case, 6 infill wells with TM-01 and TM-02 converted to water injectors, raises recovery factor from 3.53% at base case to about 44%, with an NPV10 of USD 12.36 M, an IRR of 31% and a 3.06-year payout.
Well test: I interpreted TM-01 pressure transient data in Kappa Saphir (log-log derivative, semi-log superposition). Permeability came out at 159 md and skin at +10.8, which means significant near-wellbore damage, with an initial pressure of 1,701 psia in a homogeneous reservoir with an infinite-acting boundary. The 197 ft radius of investigation was used to set the drainage area in the reserves estimate.
Production pipeline: I built the gathering network in PIPESIM (compositional fluid, 50% water cut): two subnetworks with 6 infill wells, manifolds, a transfer pump and a 19 km export line to Kilang Musi. Pipes were sized by trial against API RP 14E erosional-velocity limits (EVR 0.44 to 0.71 on all trunklines), and I explained the localized spike at the end of the export line as re-flashing at low arrival pressure.
HSE: I wrote the Health, Safety and Environment section, covering hazard identification by activity, the health, safety and environmental aspects, and the applicable regulations and standards. I also contributed to RCAL and SCAL analysis, well-log interpretation and PVT data processing.
